Throughout what has been a tough start to the season for the Red Sox, J.D. Martinez’s dominance has not gone away. The Red Sox slugger has hits in all seven games so far this season and is hitting .357 with two home runs and seven RBIs. His batting average is second on the team to Blake Swihart, and his home run and RBI totals are the best on the team.

The first home run of Martinez’s 2019 campaign helped spark the Red Sox' comeback in the first win of the season on Friday, and his second (on Sunday) was also the 1,000th hit of his career. If you’re looking for a bright spot in a tough start to the season, look no further than Martinez.
