FOXBORO - Junior Seau, after one practice, said on Thursday he intends on preparing himself to be ready to play this Sunday against Tennessee. "It was fun, going out there and taking the steps, getting in the right position, making calls here and there," Seau said of his initial practice on Wednesday without pads. "I'm a little sluggish," he added. "There are some things I could do better. For the first day, it went well. There's no choice. I've got to be ready on Sunday. I've got to insert myself into being the player I can be and build that into shape but more importantly, be a part of the formula for Sunday." Asked if he thinks he can also provide an immediate leadership role to younger defensive players, Seau was more cautious. "My role is to help this team win," he said. "My role is not here to baby-sit."
