Although he was a full participant at Monday’s practice, Enes Kanter will not play against the Cavaliers on Tuesday. He’s active, but Brad Stevens told reporters in Cleveland he won’t play because, “He’s just not ready.”

Listen to your team news NOW.

Kanter has yet to play his second game in a Celtics uniform due to his left knee contusion.

On Monday, Kanter expressed he expected to play the Raptors in Boston’s second game of the season, even after his injury against the Sixers. But the team wanted to be safe.

Now, if Kanter had strained something and the Celtics wanted to take a little extra time, that’d make a little more sense. That’s not the case though. His injury has continuously been diagnosed as a knee contusion.

Wednesday marks two weeks since Kanter initially suffered the contusion. Seems like a bit much for a bruise.
