They won’t be able to see each other in person every day, but Enes Kanter can at least rest easy knowing his friend, Tacko Fall, will remain part of the Celtics organization, with the team making the conversion of his Exhibit 10 deal into a two-way contract official on Sunday.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Like Tremont Waters, Fall will be with the Maine Red Claws, Boston’s G League affiliate, for most of 2019-20. Though, he’ll be able to spend up to 45 days with Boston over the course of the season.

More importantly for Fall, he now has the chance to develop his game further while enjoying a little stability, having been in a position where he constantly needed to prove himself since signing an Exhibit 10 deal with the C’s.

“I feel like I understand the game better. I was a little bit too raw,” Fall said on his growth since he first signed with the Celtics. “I got a lot better, I got a lot stronger, got a lot more patient out there, and I just need to keep improving on those things.”

In the extra workouts after Celtics practices, Fall has worked out with some of the other Celtics big men. Though the only one he’s worked with each day — at least at the Auerbach Center — is Kanter. And their relationship isn’t solely limited to the court. Fall has been featured in some of Kanter’s videos posted to social media, several of which have been filmed off the floor.

So it’s no surprise the eight-year veteran is glad the rookie is sticking around.

“I’m just happy for him. He’s a good dude,” Kanter told WEEI.com. “Good player to be around. He always brings positive energy, lifts guys up. Even when he doesn’t play, he always communicates with us. Really good locker room guy. He’s always standing up and cheering for his teammates. It’s always nice to see Tacko next to you.”
