Jerry Narron returns to role as Red Sox bench coach

His direct boss may still have an interim tag in front of his job title, but Jerry Narron doesn’t have the same add-on in front of his new title.

Previously Ron Roenicke’s bench coach throughout parts of the Red Sox interim manager’s run as Brewers manager (2011-2015), Narron is Boston’s new bench coach.

Narron has served as manager for two MLB clubs throughout his career, the Rangers (2001-2002) and the Reds (2005-2007).

Narron was last with the Diamondbacks, most recently serving as Torey Lovullo’s bench coach. Though, his role was set to change this season with Lovullo making Luis Urueta Arizona’s new bench coach.

Narron was also the bench coach for the Red Sox in 2003 under Grady Little.
