A meeting between Celtics doctors and Walker was set up for late Thursday. His status for Friday’s game against the Hawks is unknown.

Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown made his return to practice. He expects to play on Friday.

“I think I’ve played in worse conditions, so I feel like I’ll be all right to get back out there,” Brown said.

He missed the Celtics’ game in Charlotte on New Year’s Eve due to a sinus infection.

“I had, like, the worst headache I think I’ve ever had in my entire life,” Brown said. “But I’m feeling a lot better. I think the worst is behind us. Still a little bit congested, but that’s manageable.”
