The Celtics will be without Kemba Walker once again on Wednesday. The team ruled him out against the Jazz due to left knee soreness.

On Tuesday, Walker told reporters in Portland if it were up to him, he’d be back on the floor by now. But the Celtics are trying to manage the health of his knee for the long haul.

“If we need to sit him it’s a planned second night of a back-to-back down the road, it’s not because the knee acted (up) and we need another week or two,” Brad Stevens said of the Celtics’ plan for Walker going forward. “Let’s do it now, strengthen it, make it as good as it can be, then we can ramp up accordingly as we head into the stretch run.”

Robert Williams (left hip bone edema) remains the only other player who’s unavailable for the Celtics.
