Kendrick Perkins takes another shot at Kyrie Irving

The NBPA has a new vice president: Kyrie Irving.

The former Celtics point guard was elected as Pau Gasol’s replacement and joins Jaylen Brown as one of the NBPA’s vice presidents, along with Andre Iguodala (First VP), Bismack Biyombo, Malcolm Brogdon, CJ McCollum and Garrett Temple.

But the news didn’t exactly go over well with one former Celtics player — who also happens to be one of Irving’s ex-teammates — Kendrick Perkins. He found out about the news while on ESPN’s “The Jump” on Monday:

“What?” Perkins said when Rachel Nichols first informed him. “What? Who?

“Oh, I’m so glad I’m retired. I’m glad I started my — I’m so glad I’m out (of) the league. That’s all I got to say. Because I’m going to tell you: that’s the blind leading the blind.”
