Soon, very soon, we will have the answer to, “Where in the world is Kyrie Irving going to play in 2019-20?”

One day, it’s the Lakers. The next, it’s the Knicks. Of course, there are reports that indicate the Celtics are confident Irving will stick around, too.

It’s an absolute fiasco. Again, this whole thing will be done soon. Though something says the rest of this month will feel like an eternity.

Wouldn’t it be great if Irving just told everyone where he’s going before NBA free agency kicks off? What if he already did? (Meaning, what if he holds true to his commitment to the Celtics back in the fall?)

Well, according to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Irving has given someone an idea of where he’ll sign. Only, it’s not who you think. It’s probably not your second guess either. (Heck, the team hasn’t even been mentioned in this post yet.)

"Kyrie Irving has given every indication to the Brooklyn Nets that that is where he wants to go," Smith said on Tuesday’s "First Take." "Not the New York Knicks."

Smith went on to explain the implications of Irving going to Brooklyn instead of the Knicks. The way he puts it, Irving going to the Nets may be more ridiculous than him rejoining LeBron James. Unless there’s someone else ready to buddy up with Irving that hasn’t been brought up, he’d the only big name signing with the Nets. Because Kevin Durant isn’t going there — not according to Smith at least.
