Up until Wednesday, Brian Johnson had been on the shelf since April 6 with left elbow inflammation. The lefty made his return to the mound for a rehab appearance with Triple-A Pawtucket in their game against the Columbus Clippers (Indians). Johnson threw 32 pitches (20 strikes) in 1 2/3 innings of relief. He struck out one and gave up two runs on three hits and a walk in the 7-4 loss.

Both runs came in the fourth inning with two outs after Johnson loaded the bases on a single, double and a walk. Eric Stamets drove in the two runs with a liner to left field.
