After scuffling in his first few games back from multiple shoulder surgeries, Marco Hernandez has made significant strides at the plate. In his first three games with Class A Advanced Salem, the infielder went 1-for-10 with a single. Since then, he is hitting .379. Seven of his last 15 games were multi-hit performances, including his three-hit night against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros) on Monday.

Hernandez hit his seventh double of the year and drove in his ninth run as part of Salem’s 13-6 win over Fayetteville.

Dalbec not done

On the same day Bobby Dalbec was named the Eastern League Player of the Week, the Red Sox top prospect according to Baseball America went yard. It’s the fifth time he’s hit one in the last four games. This solo shot’s estimated distance was 400 feet, launching off his bat at 109.6 miles per hour.

Dalbec also brought in a run on a walk in the eighth inning of Double-A Portland’s 5-2 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (Rockies). He has driven in at least one run in seven of his last eight games, plating 13 in total during the span.

Brett Netzer also had himself a day for Portland. The Sea Dogs second baseman went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two runs scored and an RBI. He’s in the midst of a mini-hitting streak that has spanned four games, going 5-for-15 (.333) during the stretch.
