Here is what happened in the Red Sox farm system on Thursday.

TRIPLE-A PAWTUCKET RED SOX (42-43): W, 1-0 at Rochester

-- Hector Velazquez got his sixth win of the season after tossing seven shutout innings, scattering four hits and striking out seven. With the victory, the 28-year-old lowered his ERA to 1.48 in 12 starts.

-- Red Wings starter Tim Melville was dealing as well until the seventh inning when Steve Selsky doubled and scored the game’s only run on a throwing error.

-- Ben Taylor pitched two perfect innings in relief for his first save of the year.

DOUBLE-A PORTLAND SEA DOGS (38-43): W, 8-7 vs. New Hampshire

-- Right fielder Jeremy Barfield was the star, smashing a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning. The veteran minor leaguer went 4-for-5 and scored three runs.

-- 23-year-old starter Teddy Stankiewicz struggled, going 5 2/3 innings and allowing six runs on 12 hits. In 15 starts this season, he’s 3-3 with a 4.45 ERA.

-- After being promoted from Salem earlier in the week, Trevor Kelley made his Double-A debut and went 2 1/3 innings, allowing only one run. A scoreless ninth gave Jake Cosart his third win.

-- Henry Urrutia, Chad De La Guerra, Cole Sturgeon and Deiner Lopez all had multi-hit games in the team’s 15-hit outburst.

HIGH-A SALEM RED SOX (50-34): W, 8-3 at Carolina

-- Lead off man Chris Madera served as the spark plug for Salem’s offense Thursday night, going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.

-- Tate Matheny blasted his fifth home run of the year in the second inning and first baseman Josh Ockimey went 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI.

-- 22-year-old Shaun Anderson pitched well enough to earn his second win. The righty allowed five hits and three runs in five innings, while walking a pair and striking out three.

-- Logan Boyd impressed in his Salem debut. The lefty tossed three innings of one-hit baseball and struck out five.
