July 21, 2013 - 12:30 pm

The Red Sox will take on the Yankees at Fenway Park Sunday night, with a chance to win the series and pull seven games ahead of their rival in the American League East race while also continuing to maintain ahead of the Rays in the losses column. (Tampa Bay, with a win on Sunday, is 58-41, just one game behind the 59-40 Red Sox.) Shane Victorino returns after leaving Friday's game with hamstring tightness. Mike Napoli will also return to his regular spot in the Red Sox lineup, after getting Saturday's game off. Ryan Dempster (5-8, 4.24) will make his first start of the second half, after Jon Lester's start was pushed back to Tuesday against the Rays. Dempster has struggled against the pinstripes over his career. In six starts he is 0-5 with a 7.29 ERA with Yankee hitters batting .341 with a 1.050 OPS. Southpaw CC Sabathia (9-8, 4.07) will toe the rubber for the Yankees. Sabathia has faced the Red Sox twice so far this season, owning a 1-1 record. Sox hitters are hitting .286, while Sabathia holds a 3.65 ERA and has fanned 15 while walking just four Red Sox batters. For complete Red Sox coverage, click here.
