The Celtics are turning to an old friend for a bit of a boost.

According to Shams Charania of the Athletic, the C's have agreed to a 10-day contract with Greg Monroe.

Monroe will help in the absence of Aron Baynes, who is recovering from an ankle sprain suffered Wednesday night in Philadelphia.

The center had appeared in 38 games for Toronto this season before being traded to Brooklyn. The Nets waived Monroe, who averaged 10.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 19.1 minutes a game in his 26-game sting with the Celtics last season.
