ATLANTA -- As always, the Super Bowl has plenty of Rob Gronkowski storylines. But one, according to the tight end's brother, is "ridiculous" to talk about.

Calling in to promote, Dan Gronkowski let it be known on the Mut & Callahan Show how he felt about the notion that his brother was being crass when identifying what percent he would put on Gronk retiring after this season.

"You guys know my favorite number," Gronkowski said at Monday night's media availability, referencing No. 69. "You know what I’m talking about. She knows what number I’m talking about (pointing to a reporter). Ask her. That’s the answer."

"That’s ridiculous," Dan Gronkowski told M&C of the criticism. "You have to put yourself in his shoes. He gets asked that question every single day."

When asked about the Sports Illustrated article suggesting Gronk was eyeing an acting career sooner rather than later, Dan simply responded, "That's news to me."

The former Broncos, Patriots and Browns tight end did offer some insight into his brother's approach when it came to the 2018 season.

"That’s the one thing he really, really tried to do this year is be healthy when the time came," Gronkowski said. "He was so focused on being healthy this year when the time is right, which is the playoffs."
