The Red Sox are getting the White House storyline out of the way early.

According to team president Sam Kennedy, the Sox are slated to make their visit to the nation's capital on Friday, Feb. 15 where they will be honored by President Donald Trump for winning the 2018 World Series.

The February visit is a departure from the last time the Red Sox were invited to the White House, after their 2013 championship. That trip coincided with an April series in Baltimore. The team's Washington D.C. trip after the 2004 championship coming on March 2 the following year. They also executed the tradition during spring training following their 2007 title, visiting then-President George Bush on Feb. 27.

Feb. 13 marks the first full day of workouts for pitchers and catchers, with the entire roster slated to officially report by Feb. 18.

The Boston Globe was first to surface the date for this year's visit.
