Dustin Pedroia evidently got some good news.

The second baseman, who was forced from Wednesday night's game in New York after experiencing pain in his surgically-repaired left knee, told the media in St. Petersburg, Fla. that he doesn't expect to be out of the lineup long.

Pedroia was replaced on the 25-man roster by reliever Marcus Walden, with the Red Sox making two more moves Friday when they promoted both Tzu-Wei Lin and Michael Chavis. Eduardo Nunez was placed on the injured list while Erasmo Ramirez was designated for assignment.
