Just when it appeared as though the concern had been pushed aside, the lineup changed.

After being slotted into the Portland Sea Dogs' lineup for Saturday afternoon's game at Hadlock the second baseman was scratched just about an hour after the original lineup was posted.

This comes after Pedroia exited Friday night's start with the Sea Dogs after just four innings.

Following the Red Sox' game against the Astros, Sox manager Alex Cora was asked about the situation with Pedroia's latest knee issue.

"He didn’t feel right. No slides, no hit … he didn’t feel right after the second one so he decided that was enough today," Cora said. "We’ll see how it goes and we’ll know a little bit more tomorrow."

The plan was for Pedroia to play throughout the weekend with the Sea Dogs.
