ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Some wheels were turning for the Red Sox heading into their three-game series against the Rays, with a couple of roster moves and a revamped lineup. Shortstop Stephen Drew cleared through waivers and was assigned to Single-A Greenville, where he was in the lineup for Friday night's game. With the move, the Red Sox were able to promote reliever Alex Wilson to the big league team. Wilson is expected to spend the next two games with the Sox before they add a reliever for Sunday's start, replacing Felix Doubront. Update: Drew went 1-for-2 with Greenville, notching a single while playing five innings in the field. He cleanly fielded all five of his chances. Unless he was to replace a player going on the 15-day disabled list, the earliest Drew could join the Red Sox is June 2. Manager John Farrell mixed things up with the lineup heading into his team's matchup with righty Chris Archer, leading off Brock Holt. Holt is the Red Sox' sixth different leadoff hitter this season.
