Tom Brady has been sacked by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The "Tom Terrific" trademark request that had been filed by Brady's company TEB Capital Management has been denied by the USPTO, citing a "false connection" with former Mets pitcher Tom Seaver. The file was originally brought forth in May.

Brady has publicly stated that it was not his intention to garner the "Tom Terrific" trademark, but that he rather simply wanted to keep others from using it. But as Josh Gerben points out in the accompanying video/tweet the trademark request was never removed, leading to this decision.
