For what it's worth, Craig Kimbrel is working out near Boston

It might mean nothing. But maybe it could actually mean something.

Recent sightings of Craig Kimbrel in and around Boston have now been followed by an Instagram post from Red Sox' infielder Brock Holt, posing with the closer.

Hey @redsox ran into some guy today. Says he’s looking for a job. Supposedly he’s pretty good??

The photo was taken at Babson College where Holt has been working out for the majority of the offseason, and Kimbrel spent time during last spring training while tending to his recuperating young daughter.

The caption from Holt -- "Hey @redsox ran into some guy today. Says he’s looking for a job. Supposedly he’s pretty good??" -- also highlighted Kimbrel's current status, which remains as a free agent.

The task of identifying a market for Kimbrel has become challenging, with the Phillies (even with the signing of David Robertson) perhaps representing the 30-year-old's best bet for leverage against whatever the Red Sox are willing to offer. Sox president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski continues to insist he has no intention in investing significant years or dollars in the relief market, going so far to say on Buster Olney's recent podcast that inking a late-inning reliever seems to be a longshot.
