Some were a little perplexed as to why the Patriots used a first-round pick on a running back in last week's draft when they selected Georgia's Sony Michel No. 31 overall.

But, if things go the way Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green predicts, it will be well worth the pick.

“I love Sony,” Green said on Adam Schefter's podcast. “You know his versatility and him going to New England – that's my pick for Rookie of the Year. Mark it down."

Why does he think that?

“I know how versatile he is," Green added. "When ... you put him in a system like New England's where he can be out there running routes and in the backfield – all the stuff going on against linebackers.”

It is worth pointing out Green attended Georgia too, so there may be some bias, but Michel certainly has the talent to make an impact at the next level.

Michel will likely be asked to run in between the tackles and catch the ball out of the backfield in the New England offense. In his four years at Georgia, he rushed for 3,613 yards (6.1 per carry) and 33 touchdowns, while catching 64 passes out of the backfield for 621 yards and six touchdowns.
