After it was reported earlier on Thursday that Julian Edelman is facing a four-game suspension for using a performance-enhancing substance, Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady's business partner in TB12, has released a statement.

"I’ve known Julian since his rookie year and he is a phenomenal athlete who takes his training seriously—it’s disappointing to hear today’s news," the statement reads. "Elite athletes sometimes work with multiple coaches and health professionals as part of their training. Here at our facility, we take a natural, holistic, appropriate and, above all, legal approach to training and recovery for all of our clients. And anyone who would suggest otherwise is irresponsible, and just plain wrong."

Edelman has been one of the Patriots players who consistently gets treatment at TB12 and said himself he spent a lot of time there last season when he was rehabbing from his torn ACL. NBC Sports Boston's Tom E. Curran did report Edelman has not been training there as frequently this offseason.

The statement seems a bit unnecessary, but it's clear Guerrero is trying to distance himself and TB12 from the situation.
