Following a lawsuit accusing Antonio Brown of sexual assault and rape, the Patriots put out a statement very late Tuesday night.

Listen to your team news NOW.

It read: “We are aware of the civil lawsuit that was filed earlier today against Antonio Brown, as well as the response by Antonio’s representatives. We take these allegations very seriously. Under no circumstance does this organization condone sexual violence or assault. The league has informed us that they will be investigating. We will have no further comment while that investigation takes place.”

The biggest takeaway is it says the NFL will be investigating. It is unclear what is next for the wide receiver and if he will be even allowed to practice with the Patriots for the first time on Wednesday.

Brown was officially signed by the Patriots Monday, but agreed to terms Saturday, following his release from the Raiders.
