Bill Belichick on OMF admits he's concerned with Patriots running back depth

The Patriots running back situation isn't exactly the greatest.

There were only two active backs in Monday's game against the Bills -- James White and Kenjon Barner -- and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was the leading rusher with 38 yards. Rookie Sony Michel missed the game with a knee injury, but he did practice on Saturday, so there's a chance he's back this week.

The issue goes back to the beginning of the year when Jeremy Hill tore his ACL in Week 1 and then Rex Burkhead was placed on injured reserve a few weeks later and they were not replaced.

So, will the Patriots add a back this week, especially considering there's an open roster spot with Eric Rowe being placed on injured reserve?

“We just got back a few hours ago, so we’ll kind or recalibrate here and see where we’re at relative to who’s available and how we want to structure our game plan and what we want to do there,” Bill Belichick said Monday on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria. “That’s one of the things we’re going through. But it’s a consideration, and I’d say it’s a concern.”

If they do make a move, it's likely it will happen before the first practice of the week on Wednesday, so we'll find out sooner rather than later.
