There was a big surprise to open Monday night's game against the Bills, as wide receiver Josh Gordon was on the field with the rest of the Patriots starters.

This came following a report from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport earlier in the day that said Gordon would be disciplined in the game because of tardiness. He said Gordon was expected to miss several series — about a quarter — as they continue to work with him and manage him.

After the game, Gordon was asked about the situation.

“You know what, that’s going to be a question to ask coach about,” Gordon said to reporters. “As it relates to the game, I was available. That was a plus.”

Added Gordon: “I’ve got to check on everything. I’m not too sure about what’s out there myself. I couldn’t even give you an answer.”

Bill Belichick was also asked about the report, and predictably he didn't give anything.

"You'd have to talk to whoever wrote that. I have no idea," he said.

Gordon got his normal reps in the game and finished with four catches for 42 yards.

While both parties are not speaking on the matter, it would seem there's more to the story, which may come out in the coming days.
