It was an eventful few days for wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and the Patriots.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The veteran wide out was released on Saturday, but then brought back on Monday when wide receiver N'Keal Harry was placed on injured reserve. This came following the 31-year-old played in the final preseason game last week and finished with seven receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Appearing on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria Tuesday, Bill Belichick was asked what makes the team believe he will make more of an impact than some other veterans like Eric Decker and Reggie Wayne who have come in during the summer and struggled, but he indicated there's still some unknown.

"That's a tough question because we're going on limited information," he said. "We only activated him for practice right at the end of training camp. Of course, he played in the Giants game. We have to go on what we can go on. I'd say the improvement that he's shown, and the work ethic, and what he's been able to do has been good. It's been to the point where we feel he'll be able to make a solid contribution for us this year. The question is, 'Where will it go?' I don't know if any of us have the answer to that, but at least I know that he'll work hard, he's tough, and he's a dependable player who will put everything he has into it. So, we'll see what happens."

Thomas joins a wide receiver depth chart that includes Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski.
