Led by Joe Cardona, the Patriots were able to donate 200 tickets to military members for Sunday's Super Bowl LI rematch against the Falcons.

Well before the game they did a lap around the field, which drew a lot of applause from fans who arrived early. Then during warmups, they lined the end zone and remained on the field through the national anthem. Patriots players were high-fiving them from the minute they stepped on the field.

Cardona's gesture even drew praise from Bill Belichick in the locker room after the game, which the Patriots won 23-7.

“Congratulations, men. That is a damn good job," he said courtesy of "That was a good week. Way to finish the game offensively with the ball in our hands. Defense, big plays all night. Special teams, great field position. Good team win. All three units. Good complimentary football, what we need. What we need and we can get better and we can get better. We left a few things out there on the field.

“Big week this week. Chargers have won three in a row. We have to have another good week. We have to grind it out. Let’s out everything we’ve got into it this week. Let’s put everything we’ve got into it this week and get to 6-2. That is a hell of a job tonight, fellas. Hell of a job.

“Joe, great job on the military thing tonight. That was awesome.”
