There have been a few rookies to impress so far this summer for the Patriots, one of them being third-round pick Chase Winovich out of Michigan.

Listen to your team news NOW.

The defensive end has been all over the field in the two preseason games totaling nine tackles and 2.5 sacks. The thing that stands out most is his high motor, as he always seems to be moving towards the ball, even when it is on the other side of the field.

This has even impressed Bill Belichick.

“Definitely. Chase is very aggressive, fast. He has a relentless motor," he said Monday on Ordway, Merloni & Fauria. "All those things are good. He lacks some experience and there are some things he definitely needs to work on and can improve on, but he is a hard working kid. He is smart. He understands what he needs to do and we are asking him to do some things he has never really done before, or didn’t do at Michigan. I am not saying he can’t do them, it is just making an adaption, some adjustments. He has worked hard at that and definitely got a lot better. We’ll see where all that goes.”

Winovich hasn't seen much time with the first team, but that could change this week in the third preseason game.

The Michigan product figures to have a good-sized role on the defense this season.
