JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bill Belichick is never usually very chatty after games, even wins. So, following Sunday's 31-20 loss to the Jaguars, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how it went.

Almost immediately after stepping off the field, Belichick took to the podium for a press conference that lasted around four minutes.

Here are some of the "highlights."

Q: Why did you elect to receive kickoff and not defer like usual?
Belichick: “Yeah, because that is what we wanted to do.”

Q: How much of a factor was the heat?
Belichick: “Same for both teams.”

Q: Why doesn't the pass-rush as successful as in Week 1?
Belichick: “We didn’t do a good enough job in any area. It’s a long list — playing, coaching, every part of the game just wasn’t good enough.”

Q: How tough was it losing defensive end Trey Flowers (concussion) early in the game?
Belichick: “Yeah, that’s football. Can’t control that. Hopefully he will be OK.”

Q: Was there any consideration to going for it late in game on fourth-and-1?
Belichick: “We decided to punt."

The Patriots will take on the Lions next Sunday on Sunday Night Football.
