After sitting out of Wednesday's game, Rafael Devers needs more time.

The third baseman was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Thursday with left shoulder inflammation. Tzu-Wei Lin was recalled as the corresponding move.

Manager Alex Cora seemed to indicate Wednesday it was more than just a day off for Devers and he was a little banged up.

"He’s a little banged up as you guys know from sliding and diving and all that," he said. "Stay away from him today. I know he had a great game against Bartolo [Colon] in Arlington with the two homers but his health is more important so we’ll stay away from him and see how he feels tomorrow.”

In 31 games since June 6, Devers is batting .275 with a .790 OPS. For the year, he's hitting .241 with 14 homers and 48 RBIs.
