Red Sox prospect Jarren Duran shows off talent in MLB Futures Game

Last year at this time Jarren Duran was just selected in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB draft by the Red Sox. A year later he was representing them in the Futures Game as part of MLB All-Star week in Cleveland.

Duran, a speedy outfielder, got into the game as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning and grounded out. His next at-bat came an inning later when he singled to get the potential go-ahead run to third base with one out. Duran then used his speed to steal second, but the AL stranded he and Isaac Paredes, which contributed to the 2-2 tie.

The 22-year-old was promoted to Double-A Portland after 50 games with Salem. In 30 games with the Sea Dogs, he's batting .240/.298/.298.
