Last year at this time Jarren Duran was just selected in the seventh round of the 2018 MLB draft by the Red Sox. A year later he was representing them in the Futures Game as part of MLB All-Star week in Cleveland.

Duran, a speedy outfielder, got into the game as a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning and grounded out. His next at-bat came an inning later when he singled to get the potential go-ahead run to third base with one out. Duran then used his speed to steal second, but the AL stranded he and Isaac Paredes, which contributed to the 2-2 tie.

The 22-year-old was promoted to Double-A Portland after 50 games with Salem. In 30 games with the Sea Dogs, he's batting .240/.298/.298.
