Red Sox make roster move to try to help bullpen
The Red Sox have made another roster move to try and boost their bullpen.
Left-hander Darwinzon Hernandez has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket and Ryan Brasier has been optioned as the corresponding move.
Hernandez has allowed only one run in four appearances since being moved to the bullpen with the PawSox. Between Double-A and Triple-A this season, Hernandez is 2-6 with a 5.02 ERA. With Pawtucket, in seven games he's 1-2 with a 4.86 ERA, but opponents are only hitting 1.75 against him.
Brasier has struggled of late, allowing runs in three of his last four appearances, including three in 2/3 of an inning Monday against the Blue Jays.
The Red Sox and Jays will continue their four-game set Tuesday night.
