FOXBORO -- The following Patriots players are inactive for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Jets: offensive lineman James Ferentz, defensive end Adrian Clayborn, tight end Jacob Hollister, cornerback Duke Dawson, safety Obi Melifonwu, defensive end Keionta Davis and wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

Hollister was ruled out Friday, while Patterson was listed as questionable with a knee injury suffered last week against the Bills. The team may be being cautious with Patterson as without him the receiving core is very thin. It is also the first game he's ever missed in his six-year career.

Clayborn is a healthy scratch for a second straight game, which makes it seem unlikely he will return next season. It is interesting Derek Rivers is active over Davis and Clayborn because he hasn't played since the Green Bay game in Week 9.

Dawson, the Patriots' second-round pick, still hasn't been active for a game this season. He came off injured reserve during the bye week.

The Patriots can clinch a first-round bye with a win.
