No one really knows the future of Tony Romo.

He could be released, he could be traded, he could retire and focus on golf, or maybe he could retire and join a television network.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, CBS is eyeing Romo as a potential replacement for Phil Simms in the booth with Jim Nantz.

If Romo wants to step away from playing football, this seems like the perfect gig.

He would be around the game in a much less stressful role and not really have much pressure, either. The commitment wouldn’t be that much so he would still have time for his family, and also to play a lot of golf.

Given the dislike for Simms across the country, this would be a welcomed move by many.
