FOXBORO -- The following Patriots players are inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings: cornerback Duke Dawson, defensive tackle Danny Shelton, tight end Dwayne Allen, cornerback Keion Crossen, defensive end Derek Rivers, defensive end Keionta Davis and offensive lineman James Ferentz.

Allen (knee) was the only player to be ruled out Friday. He also missed last week against the Jets, but he returned to practice this week and could potentially return next week in Miami.

All other players are healthy inactives, with Shelton being the biggest name. The Patriots traded for the former first-round pick this offseason and he really hasn't been effective. The Vikings struggle with running the ball and that could be another reason for making him inactive. He has just 18 tackles on the year and has been overtaken on the depth chart by Malcom Brown and Lawrence Guy.

Dawson is again inactive. The rookie has yet to play in a game since being activated off injured reserve during the bye week.

Meanwhile, Rex Burkhead is active for the first time since Week 3. He came off injured reserve this past week.

For the Vikings, wide receiver Stefon Diggs and cornerback Xavier Rhodes are active after being listed as questionable.
