There's been an update on the condition of David Ortiz after being shot in the Dominican Republic on June 9 as his wife Tiffany has released another statement.

Stream MLB games now on fuboTV.

“Earlier this week, David underwent a third surgery for complications resulting from his gunshot wound," the statement read. "The operation was performed by Dr. David King at Massachusetts General Hospital. David is recovering well and is in good spirits.

“We continue to be incredibly appreciative of the kindness and compassion shown to David and to our entire family during this difficult time.”

Ortiz was flown to Boston just a day after being shot and has been at Mass General Hospital ever since. He's had surgeries to remove his gallbladder and part of his intestines, as well as repair his liver.

There have been multiple arrests in the case, including the man behind the shooting which was an apparent case of mistaken identity.
