It’s official, David Price is back on the Red Sox roster.

The left-hander will get the start on Monday against the White Sox and in order to get him on the roster, reliever Brandon Workman was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket after Sunday’s 5-0 loss to the Mariners.

Workman has pitched in just one big league game this season, tossing three scoreless innings on May 4. He did not pitch for the Red Sox during his latest recall, as he’s bounced back-and-forth between the Red Sox and the PawSox this month.

With Workman being optioned, it keeps reliever Blaine Boyer on the team after being selected to the active roster before the game. He pitched the final two outs of the ninth inning.

Boyer has pitched in the major leagues since 2005 and has a June 1 opt out. He's pitched for the Brewers the last two years and was 2-4 with a 3.95 ERA last season.
