FOXBORO -- It's always a good thing for NFL cornerbacks to have a little confidence, and Stephon Gilmore is the perfect example of that.

He's not much of a trash-talker, but he knows what he does on the field.

Following the Patriots' 38-3 over the Jets in the regular-season finale, the cornerback was asked if he thinks he's one of the better ones in the NFL?

“I don’t like to talk about myself. You know that," Gilmore replied. "Film don’t lie. I let other people say that.”

Gilmore was named to his second Pro Bowl this season and against the Jets on Sunday he drew Robby Anderson, who came into the game with 236 yard receiving the last two weeks. The veteran cornerback held him to just three catches on eight targets for 24 yards.

“Just got my hands on him," said Gilmore. "He’s a smaller guy, so I was physical with him every time and he didn’t like that.”

He didn't like how physical you were?

"No," he replied.

Each week it seems Gilmore gets the opponents No. 1 receiver and that is something he enjoys doing.

“It’s fun," he said. "It is a big challenge because every week is different, so you have to alter your game depending on who you are covering, so I enjoy it every week.”

Things will only get tougher in the postseason, but that will likely just mean Gilmore raising his game.
