NFL executive vice president of football operations Troy Vincent gave a brief update on the status of the NFL's investigation into the Patriots' videotaping incident at the Browns-Bengals game Sunday.

At the league meetings in Texas, Vincent indicated a resolution is not expected on Wednesday.

"It’s pending," he said. "I’m still gathering information and we’ll continue that when we return to New York.”

The NFL reportedly is believing the Patriots' story where it was an innocent mistake, but given their history it would not be a surprise if a serious penalty is issued.

The Patriots will take on the Bengals Sunday, so a ruling is expected to come before then.
