It appears very likely the Patriots will be drafting a quarterback this April to replace Jimmy Garoppolo as the likely successor of Tom Brady.

Two players stand out to ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay -- Luke Falk of Washington State and Kyle Lauletta of Richmond.

“Highly driven, very intelligent, accurate passers who both lived in the pocket, very good at going through their progressions," McShay said, via MMQB's Peter King. "Lauletta has a slightly bigger arm, and he was impressive in how he carried himself at the Senior Bowl.”

Lauletta is similar to Garoppolo in a number of ways, including they both played at FCS schools. They also both stand 6-foot-2 and have around a 63 percent completion percentage for their careers.

It is likely the Patriots select a quarterback with one of their first three picks (one first-rounder and two second-rounders).

King also notes it is likely Josh McDaniels will have a lot to say in the process, as it appears likely he will be coaching whatever QB is selected whenever Brady does decide to retire.
