FOXBORO -- Danny Amendola and Brandon Bolden's return to Gillette Stadium didn't go as they would have liked.

The 3-0 Dolphins were blown out by the Patriots, 38-7, on Sunday afternoon which sent a message to the rest of the NFL that the Patriots are back.

Of course, Amendola signed with Miami this offseason and then after getting released on cut-down weekend, Bolden signed with the Dolphins a few days later. Before the game, and afterwards, Amendola and Bolden caught up with many of their former teammates, but in the Dolphins locker room afterwards the two didn't really have much to say.

“They’re a good team. We didn’t play well enough to beat them. So, that’s it,” Amendola said to reporters.

Both players didn't express any special feelings about playing in Gillette Stadium after so many years in New England.

“It was a work day,” Bolden said. “In the moment you kind of don’t see friends; you see jersey numbers. At the end of the game, we had enough time to kind of speak to everybody. So then at that point, after the game was over, [we caught up].”

“I’m excited to be at every NFL stadium that I play in because I love playing football, and this is a great experience," Amendola added.

Amendola finished with two catches for 21 yards, while Bolden was one of Miami's core special teams players.
