After spending five years in New England and winning two Super Bowls along the way, wide receiver Danny Amendola signed with the Dolphins as a free agent this past offseason.

The 33-year-old signed a two-year deal worth $12 million, which wasn't anywhere close to what he would have received in New England.

Amendola's 3-0 Dolphins will travel to Foxboro this Sunday to take on the 1-2 Patriots. The wide receiver spoke about returning to the place where he spent the last five years to reporters in Miami on Wednesday.

“I’ve played there before so I’ve had a lot of experience playing there," he said. "I’m excited to get back up there.”

Amendola added: “Emotions … I play with a lot of emotion every game. I have a lot of friends on every team, so this won’t be really much different. I’m familiar with a lot of people in the organization. I’m excited to get up there.”

As for returning to Gillette Stadium, he said he's just focused on the game.

“Maybe I’ll look at all that stuff after I’m done playing, but right now it’s just all about preparation and getting ready for the game, getting ready for a good opponent, an opponent that plays really hard," he said. "They’re well coached. I’m just going to continue to prepare this week.”

Following signing with the Dolphins, Amendola seemed a little upset with how things ended and the Patriots not offering him the money he thought he deserved, but on Wednesday he said he was fine with how things finished.

"Of course," Amendola said. "I don’t have any regrets in my career. I’m really happy to be here. I’m really happy to be with these guys, with this group, with these coaches, with my teammates and this organization. It’s a dream come true to me.”

Through three games with his new team, Amendola has 11 catches for 100 yards.
