The Patriots officially signed wide receiver Kenny Britt on Wednesday and a day later the contract details have been released. It is a very team-friendly deal and the Patriots can move on from him after this season if they would like.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots are paying Britt a pro-rated portion of the veteran minimum $900,000 this year and then $1.5 million next year with the chance to get to $2 million with incentives. But, 2018 is the Patriots' option and if not exercised he would become an unrestricted free agent.

Britt played nine games this season with the Browns, tallying 18 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns. That marked a big drop off from his career season in 2016 with the Rams, when he hauled in 68 receptions for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns.

The wide receiver practiced with the Patriots for the first time Wednesday.
