Tom Brady and the Patriots won't be playing on championship weekend, but Jimmy Garoppolo and the 49ers will.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Speaking earlier this week, Garoppolo said while he and Brady have not spoken this week, he will be taking what he learned from watching Brady in playoff games with him this weekend, as his team hosts the Packers with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.

“I haven’t personally talked to him, but just, you know, things that I took away from watching him go through it and everything, just the consistency that he had throughout the entire run,” Garoppolo said to reporters. “Whatever it was, the first playoff game, the Super Bowl, he was very consistent between all of it and I think that just goes into your preparation throughout the week. If you are prepared going into the game then you’re going to play like that.”

Garoppolo won his first playoff game last Saturday, a 27-10 win over the Vikings. The quarterback went 11-for-19 passing with 131 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

While San Francisco relies heavily on its defense and running game, Garoppolo still is an important piece to the puzzle and his play will have a major baring on whether or not the 49ers will be heading to Miami for Super Bowl LIV.
