FOXBORO -- It didn't take long for the identity of the new No. 50 at Patriots practice to be revealed, and it's a familiar face.

According to multiple reports, linebacker Ramon Humber has been signed to the team. Humber spent some time with the Patriots in 2016, but was recently released by the Bills. Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald was first to report the news.

Humber is primarily a special teams player, but in nine games this year he has nine tackles. His best season came last year when he had 83 tackles in 13 games with Buffalo. The Patriots really seem to be looking to solidify their special teams units, which have been a disaster this year.

The 31-year-old was released by the Patriots at the end of training camp in 2016, so he never actually appeared in a regular-season game.
