The linebacker has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury in the divisional round win over the Chiefs, which will end his season. Mayo was injured in the third quarter and didn't return to the game. ESPN's Field Yates was first to report the news. Mayo has played in a reserve role this season behind Jamie Collins and Dont'a Hightower at the middle linebacker position. Jonathan Freeny, Jon Bostic and Darius Fleming are next in line to take Mayo's place. The team now has an open spot on the active 53-man roster to fill before Sunday. It is the third straight season he's been placed on injured reserve.
