Jon Gruden indicates Tom Brady was part of reason he returned to coaching

The Tuck Rule Game took place January 19, 2002, but it's apparently still fresh on the mind of Raiders coach Jon Gruden.

Tom Brady appeared to fumble late in the game, which would have likely given the Raiders the win, but because of the tuck rule it was ruled an incomplete pass. Oakland ended up losing, 16-13 and it was the last game Gruden coached with the team -- until this year.

In a Bleacher Report feature on Gruden, the coach noted Brady was one of the reasons for him wanting to return to the sidelines.

"He can't run, can't jump, he's too old," Gruden said. "He gets his ass knocked off. But he's a Terminator. He ran me out of Oakland in the Tuck Game. Damn. He brought those bastards back in a two-minute drill to beat us in a driving snow. They didn't do anything the whole night until the game was on the line. And here I am 20 years later, and guess who's still there. That's why I'm back."

Unfortunately for Gruden, the Patriots and Raiders met last season so they will not play each other this year unless it is in the playoffs.
