FOXBORO -- Josh Gordon will make his Patriots debut Sunday against the Dolphins.

Gordon is officially active after missing last week's game in Detroit against the Lions. He should give a boost to the wide receivers group that has struggled so far this season.

Here's who is inactive: tight end Jacob Hollister, cornerback Eric Rowe, offensive lineman Cole Croston, offensive lineman Ted Karras, defensive end Derek Rivers, defensive end Keionta Davis and defensive lineman Geneo Grissom.

This means newly acquired defensive end John Simon will make his debut after just a few days with the team. It also says a lot about how Rivers and Davis are viewed. It's also worth noting Brian Schwenke is active over Karras.

Also, after missing last week with concussions, Trey Flowers and Patrick Chung are back, which will help the Patriots defense in a big way. It will also be Kenjon Barner's Patriots debut, as they enter the game with just three running backs -- Sony Michel, James White and Barner.

The Patriots are looking to bounce back following a 1-2 start to the year.
