FOXBORO -- After not discussing Josh Gordon the first few days this week, Bill Belichick acknowledged the trade briefly in a segment for posted on Thursday.

The Patriots coach offered further comment on Friday during his final press conference of the week. He also discussed bringing back Cyrus Jones, who the team signed off the Ravens' practice squad earlier in the week.

“Well, since the last time we met, we officially added Josh [Gordon] and Cyrus [Jones] to the roster. So, it’s good to get them here,” Belichick said. “I’d say really in both cases, those two guys have done about as much as they can do in the few days they’ve been here, or been back in Cyrus’ case. We’ll see how it goes, but I think Josh is a smart kid. He’s worked hard. He’s picked up a lot. Cyrus has gotten back into things quickly, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Belichick was asked about how the team plans on handling Gordon's history of substance abuse and off-field issues, but didn't offer much.

"Yeah, I wouldn't talk about a player, or a player's personal or injury situation," he said. "It's something I'm not going to do."

The coach seemed pleased with the progress Gordon has made in his first few days, but made sure not to hype him up too much.

“We’ll see how it goes," he said.

Gordon, who has been limited with a hamstring injury the last two days, could be active Sunday night in Detroit against the Lions.
